Delta 8 (FAQs) THC – 8 Frequently Asked Questions

Delta 8 FAQ- all about Delta 8 THC Distillate and the products it is foound in...

What is Delta 8 THC?

The increasingly popular cannabinoid Delta 8-THC or Delta 8-Tetrahydrocannabinol, derives from hemp but carries psychoactive effects and euphoric feelings associated with the typical “high”. Known for its anti-nausea, anti-anxiety, appetite-stimulating, and stress-reducing properties, Delta 8 shares many similarities with its cannabis-derived cousin, cousin Delta 9. However, because of a slight molecular difference, Delta 8 effects don’t carry the same psychoactive strength and tend to offer a more subdued, controlled experience. Delta 8 FAQ #1.

YES. Delta 8-THC is fully federally legal and legal in 38 states. This is because Delta 8 derives from the hemp plant, not the marijuana plant. Although Delta 8 THC sounds very similar to Delta 9 THC,  they possess legal differences. Delta 8 THC is federally legal and legal in most states in the USA thanks to H.R. 2: The Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018, also known as the 2018 Farm Bill. Delta 8 FAQ #2.

What is the difference between Delta 8-THC and Delta 9-THC?

The difference boils down to federal and state legality. Delta 8-THC is fully federally legal and legal in 38 states, while Delta 9-THC is federally illegal and illegal in most states. Both Delta 8-THC and Delta 9-THC produce euphoric “high” effects on users and carry a wide variety of medical and recreational benefits.

Chemically, the two share many properties and both interact with receptors in our brain and nervous system, or the endocannabinoid system”. However, the slight chemical variation makes ALL the difference. You can read more about that here. Delta 8 FAQ #3.

The 2018 Farm Bill! Since all of our products contain only Delta 8-THC made from 100% Hemp, Delta 8 THC is completely legal to  distribute and sell within the United States. Signed into law in December 2018, Cannabis containing less than 0.3% Delta 9-THC is legally classified as Hemp and therefore  legal for all intents and purposes under federal law. Let’s also not forget, THC itself isn’t federally illegal, only specifically Delta 9-THC. Delta 8 FAQ #4.

What does “Hemp-Derived THC” mean?

“Hemp-Derived THC” means that the THC comes from the hemp plant. Under the 2018 Farm Bill, which clarifies that “Hemp” is any cannabis plant containing less than 0.3% Delta 9-THC, Hemp is federally legal for all intents and purposes under federal law. Delta 8 FAQ #5.

Will Delta 8 show up on a drug test?

It’s possible. Delta 8 THC metabolites may trigger many drug tests looking for Delta 9 THC metabolites. Delta 8 FAQ #6.
