Our Live Resin CBD vape cartridge in the Knockout blend is formulated to be a relaxing non-psychotropic option. The Knockout blend vape cart is the most relaxing blend of our three options which includes Daytrip (for focus) and Anytime (an energy-neutral option that’s focused on taste and medical value). For this blend, we take the cannabinoid and terpene-rich CBD Live Resin and couple it with other sedative compounds such as CBN.

This product will not get you high as it does not contain a high level of Delta 9 THC or Delta 8. For psychotropic options see our Delta 8 Live Resin vape carts and disposables.

The cultivars selected for the Live Resin CBD Knockout blends are dominant in relaxing cannabinoids and terpenes including myrcene. Our products do not use botanical terpenes derived from other plants and foods as most products do, ours are all cannabis and CBD-derived. Our Knockout Live Resin CBD blend consists of high-quality Kush lineage hemp flower, such as Bubba Kush, OG Kush, and The Wife. These cultivars are all fresh frozen as their harvested to lock in the beneficial phytochemistry. The fresh-frozen hemp flower is then extracted making a rich extract that has more therapeutic potential than traditional distillate. We take pride in curating thoughtful hemp flower cultivars for our CBD Live Resin extracts and keeping them strain specific for targeted effects. This means we do not blend multiple cultivars together. Strain-specific is common in cannabis products but not found easily in hemp products and it’s our mission to bring the highest quality to our open market consumer base.

Learn More About Live Resin

WHY OUR LIVE RESIN CBD VAPE CARTRIDGES ARE THE BEST:

SUPERIOR INPUTS:

Our vape cartridges are made with cannabis-quality strain-specific Live Resin. You may have seen cheaper products containing “live terpenes”, and even “Live Resin” but both don’t compare to strain-specific Live Resin. What’s the difference between all of them?

OUR STRAIN-SPECIFIC LIVE RESIN: We carefully select cultivars possessing the best profiles of cannabinoids and terpenes and extract each cultivar separately vs all together. This allows us to formulate each cultivar into the appropriate effect based on its profile.

LIVE RESIN TERPENES: “Live Resin terpenes” is a misleading marketing term. Many brands are marketing “Live Resin Terpenes” by claiming that their hemp terpenes were extracted from uncured plant material, which is actually the industry standard for ‘steam distilled’ terpenes, but this doesn’t make them “Live” let alone containing any “Resin”.  Resin (Oleoresin) implies the presence of acidic cannabinoids like CBDa and CBGa and this can be verified on a COA for a more broad range of cannabinoids beyond sole terpenes and the base distillate. Live Terpenes vs actual Live Resin is equivalent to eating the strawberry’s smell (live terpenes) vs eating all of the strawberry minus the green plant material on top (Live Resin).

LIVE RESIN: Live resin that doesn’t specify it is strain-specific means it’s extracted from multiple cultivars which are blended together after extraction. The cultivars extracted are typically mass-produced legacy strains grown for endurance, not effects, flavor, and aroma. We are proud to produce Live Resin products with not only strain-specific but farm-specific extracts sourced from a curated selection of unique hemp farms.

SUPERIOR EFFECTS:

Nearly all carts on the market pair CBD or Delta 8 Distillate with botanical terpenes and because the terpenes are from a Sativa or Indica profile they call the product Indica and Sativa. Frankensteining botanical terpenes together to match a Sativa or Indica plants profile is not the same as using strain-specific cannabis-derived terpenes like we do (we don’t add them in they are in our Live Resin naturally). Terpenes will help guide an effect but on their own the results are minimal. For this reason, we compound formulate our terpene-rich blends with other cannabinoids to create the strongest targeted effects.

SUPERIOR HARDWARE:

There are a lot of hardware options on the market that all basically do the same thing but there are important differences affecting taste, use, and safety. Some hardware is not designed well and can leak. While no device is fail-proof, the top devices (like the ones we use) have a less than 1% fail rate to ensure a good customer experience. We also ensure that there aren’t any toxic glues or metals leaching from the device into your oil. Some disposables are not rechargeable and can go dead before you finish the product; ours are rechargeable. And last but not least our devices heat to a temperature that creates an ideal flavor experience and doesn’t burn the oil making for a smoother draw.

Our Live Resin CBD Effects Explained:

Our entire line starts with a base of Live Resin because it brings in the widest range of photochemistry that has an impact on therapeutic potential, experience, taste, and aroma. Then we compound formulate additional cannabinoids with strain-specific Live Resin chosen for its profile to reach the desired target effects. Our products use the nomenclature Daytrip, Anytime, and Knockout instead of Sativa, Hybrid, and Indica as we feel the latter can be misleading.

DAYTRIP: starts with cultivars possessing cannabinoids and terpenes which will guide the desired Sativa effect for those products including Beta-Caryophyllene, CBDv and THCv.

ANYTIME: starts with cultivars possessing the most aromatic profiles that aren’t dominant in cannabinoids or terpenes that may be energetic or sedating focusing instead on a more balanced experience.

KNOCKOUT: starts with cultivars possessing cannabinoids and terpenes which will guide the desired Indica effect including CBN and Myrcene.

Live Resin CBD Vape Cartridge Directions:

Our Live D8 vape cartridges are compatible with a 510-compatible battery. You will need to have a 510-compatible battery. Batteries are not included with our vapes and must be purchased separately. Attach the cartridge to a 510-compatible battery and inhale with lips around the mouthpiece. Do not unscrew the mouthpiece. Keep at room temperature and upright to prevent leaking. Keep out of sunlight and in a cool, dark place for the longest life of the product. The product may go bad or lose its potency if subjected to extreme heat or sunlight for long periods.

GET THE BEST TASTE:

It is important to understand the impact your choice of battery has. Batteries have different amperages which affect how hot the oil will get. You do not want the oil to get too hot as it will burn and cause the taste to deteriorate.

For this reason, short small puffs are advised. This will help minimize overheating the product as longer draws = hotter coil.

You also want to make sure to heat your device and blow out the cart by puffing out to clear any residual oil that remained in the chamber after the last use.

PRO TIP:

Mix and match inhalable products with edibles to get the best of both worlds. Inhaled products are faster acting but have a shorter duration. Edibles take longer but last longer. Pairing them you get the best of both.

WHAT IS CBD LIVE RESIN?

CBD Live Resin is extracted from the most phytochemistry-dense part of the plant, the flower. We handpick the flower and remove all water leaves so only the flower remains. This gives our Live Resin a superior taste and aroma. Once harvested the flower is immediately frozen so the delicate photochemistry isn’t lost. The final step is the extraction of the frozen material, producing the Live Resin, and purging all residual solvents used in the extraction process. Nearly all CBD products on the market are made with CBD Distillate which uses the entire plant for extraction and extracts off of dried material which causes a loss of phytochemistry, taste, and aroma.

OUR CBD LIVE RESIN:

  • Hand-harvested to protect the plants delicate compounds
  • Extracted from flower only to get a more flavorful and aromatic extract
  • Uses freshly frozen flower material not dried/cured in order to preserve compounds
  • Strain-specific and potentiated with minor cannabinoids to create targeted products with each cultivar
  • Curated cultivar from top breeders to bring unique profiles and effects

STANDARD DISTILLATE:

  • Almost always machine-harvested, destroying delicate compounds
  • Extracted from all plant matter
  • Uses dried out plant material causing a loss to the plant’s compounds
  • Mixed cultivars so you can’t target effects with the distillate
  • Typically extracted from legacy cultivars produced for their endurance in different growing environments

PRODUCT SAFETY:

With many cart options on the market, how do you decide which CBD vape cart is the best? Important considerations outside of price are the quality and safety of the distillate, terpenes, and hardware.

It’s imperative that you see full panel testing on all product inputs. A full panel test means the final oil was tested for residual solvents that could have been left behind from the extraction process and also tests for pesticides or mycotoxins that could have been present in the source material.

Our CBD Live Resin is full panel tested for any residual solvents to ensure product safety. A full panel test showing “pass” does not mean the product is safe. It’s important any potentially harmful residuals are tested for and not every lab tests for all of the compounds that could be present. It is the companies job to request the test encompasses all compounds used, which we do.

Our cartridge hardware contains a ceramic coil with numerous intake holes to ensure proper flow during use. We do not use cartridges that could leak harmful metal or glues into the product.

Vape Cartridge Troubleshooting:

Clogging is a common issue with any vape cartridge. This most often occurs due to un-inhaled vapor remaining in the airway after previous use, and, upon cooling, the vapor turns back into oil and sticks to the inner walls of the vape cartridge airway. Over time this will continually build up until there is total blockage of the airway with oil. You can fix this by inserting a skinny item, like an unwound paperclip into the airway and scraping the walls to remove the excess oil. This oil is safe to consume orally if you wish.

A temporary solution is to preheat your cartridge in order to create warm vapors that loosen the oil in the airway. While this may create a temporary hole in the airway blockage, which will allow the vape cartridge to be used, the blockage is likely to reoccur immediately after use and may eventually lead to oil build that works its way out of the airway and into your mouth at some point.

Prevention or delay of these clogs is possible by clearing the airway fully after use. The less remaining vapor, the slower the buildup of oil. Another way is to take smaller hits. Larger hits tend to thicker vapor (i.e. more oil) in the airway compared to hits of 3 seconds or less.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REGULAR CBD DISTILLATE & CBD LIVE RESIN?

Regular CBD distillate (and Delta 8 distillate) are very different from CBD Live Resin. CBD distillate is the standard extract used in most products on the market. It contains varying amounts of plant compounds depending on the material it was extracted from but CBD Live Resin will always contain more plant compounds because of how it is extracted. CBD distillate is typically made from CBD biomass that is dried before extraction which causes a loss of many of the plants’ compounds that are damaged by heat exposure. CBD Live Resin is extracted from CBD flower that is never dried and is instead frozen until extraction to protect the plants’ compounds. CBD Live Resin is considered a higher quality extract and is preferred by premium product makers and those who wish to have the most effective products.

HOW MUCH CBD IS IN LIVE RESIN?

The amount of CBD contained within CBD Live Resin will vary depending on the extract and how cannabinoid and terpene-rich the CBD flower used for extraction was. Our CBD Live Resin extracts typically contain a concentration between 50-70% CBD. CBD levels are not the same in all CBD flower cultivars which affect the final concentration of the compound when extracted for CBD Live Resin. You can view all of our COAs to determine which potency best suits your needs, or give us a call and we can assist you: +1.503.438.6783

DOES CBD HAVE RESIN?

CBD doesn’t contain resin, CBD is Resin. CBD Live Resin in specific is an oleoresin. The word “resin” is referring to the resin glands which are prominent in hemp and cannabis plants. On the hemp plant, the resin glands contain high levels of CBD whereas a cannabis plant contains high levels of THC. The word “live” is referring to the extraction method where the plant is delicately handled and flash-frozen; since the plant is still “living” during extraction, the concentrate is considered a Live extract. We extract our CBD Live Resin from hemp flower cultivars that are richest in CBD.

WILL CBD LIVE RESIN GET YOU MORE HIGH?

The first important question is, “more high than what?”. In comparison to a CBD-only product made with standard CBD distillate, the answer is no but that’s because CBD distillate does give you a mind-altering “high” in general. That being said, if you feel effects from consuming CBD distillate-based products then you would feel stronger effects consuming CBD Live Resin since it contains more of the plants’ compounds.

If we are comparing Delta 8 distillate products that do or don’t have CBD Live Resin then the answer is also no. This is because CBD interacts with the same receptors that Delta 8 and Delta 9 THC do and can impede the uptake of the other compounds. For this same reason, it will give you a longer-lasting effect. Here is the biggest consideration and best question to ask, “What is your ultimate goal? The highest high or the best high?”. For a balanced, cannabis-like high we recommend products with Live Resin. Delta 8-only products are not natural and are one-dimensional, with Live Resin, you experience a better high that is multi-dimensional.

DO LIVE RESIN CARTS HAVE CBD?

Yes. Live Resin, even in cannabis, contains CBD since it’s present in cannabis and hemp plants which is where the Live Resin is extracted from. That being said, not all Live Resin carts contain Live Resin. Many actually contain Live Terpenes which you can read more about below.

WHAT DOES “LIVE” MEAN ON DELTA 8 & CBD PRODUCTS?

“Live” refers to the extraction method where the plant is delicately handled and flash-frozen; since the plant is still “living” during extraction, the concentrate is considered a Live extract. Since Live Resin is new to the hemp industry, “Live” can be misused as a marketing term that confuses consumers into thinking the product contains Live Resin. Many of the products that have “Live” listed on the product label contain “Live Terpenes”. “Live Terpenes” is just another name for hemp terpenes and are not “special terpenes”. They are steam distilled which is standard and not a new method. Make sure the product you are buying contains Live Resin and not just Live Terpenes, you can do so by checking the concentrate for multiple cannabinoids. The difference is significant.

WHAT DOES CBD RESIN DO?

CBD Live Resin, in general, does the same things as CBD distillate but it is more effective as it contains a more concentrated spectrum of CBD plant compounds due to the extraction method. When concentrates contain more cannabinoids and plant compounds, more of your endocannabinoid system is activated bringing more holistic benefits than standard distillates. Live Resin also potentiates other cannabinoids due to the entourage effect, meaning the high will be more full-bodied and last longer compared to standard distillates.

WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT LIVE RESIN?

CBD Live Resin is special because it is extracted in a way that preserves more of the plants’ compounds which translates to higher yields during extraction (higher potency). We can look at food, for example, when food is frozen after being harvested it locks in more of the nutrition that can be lost as the plant ages after harvest. This is the same with CBD Live Resin. CBD Live Resin is made from hemp cannabis plants that are frozen right as they are harvested to lock in the beneficial compounds. Most products are made from distillate which is extracted from dried-out biomass. This makes products made with CBD Live Resin (like ours) much higher quality. If you were to have two bundles of spinach and you place one bundle in the freezer and one bundle on the counter, after a couple of days which one are you going to grab to make juice?

HOW DO YOU TAKE CBD RESIN?

CBD Live Resin can be taken in a variety of ways. When it is first extracted it is in distillate form; from there it can be dabbed as is, put into softgels or capsules, homogenized with MCT oil to make tinctures, and formulated into vape cartridges, disposables, dabs, gummies, and other products including those found on this site. In its raw form, it is sticky and thick so it has to be heated to be handled.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LIVE RESIN AND ROSIN?

CBD Live Resin is more refined than rosin and also is extracted differently. Rosin is produced using solventless methods whereas CBD Live Resin is extracted using BHO. Rosin is rawer than CBD Live Resin and contains undesirable compounds that negatively impact taste and aroma in comparison to CBD Live Resin which maintains much of the plant chemistry but is refined just enough to bring out the desirable flavor and aroma compounds. They are both considered high-quality extracts.
